Health News (Week 29 - 2014)
By Robert Redfern

All of the cells in our body are regenerating every day. If they didn’t we would be blind in about 10 minutes and dead within 24 hours or so. The macula in the back of the eye completely regenerates in minutes. Tell that to the experts when they say you cannot get better.

This regeneration takes place to a blueprint (an old word) that means the data for everything you are is stored in DNA. If we damage the DNA with junk foods, radiation or drugs then of course, things start to go wrong.

Each DNA has a data counter called a telomere, which counts down every time our cells regenerate. Some people depending upon the strength of their DNA get a greater or lesser count. In other words they get a longer lifespan or shorter lifespan.

This is why drugs such as statins do not show a longer lifespan for people taking them compared with those who do not take them. It is your DNA telomere that decides when you are going to die, not a drug.

There is Good News!

There are a number of studies that show how to slow down the telomere clock (and lifespan).

  1. It has long been established that a really healthy diet extends the lifespan. Eating a nutrient rich, anti inflammatory diet will slow down the telomere clock.
  2. Stopping all high sugar foods and drinks and BBQ (burnt) foods will slow down the telomere clock.
  3. Lowering stress levels and meditating also slows down the telomere clock.
  4. Not sitting down for more than 3 hours per day slows down the telomere clock.
  5. Walking 5 miles per day will slow down the telomere clock.
  6. Supplementing with critical minerals missing from the diet such as iodine and selenium will slow down the telomere clock.

More Good News

New research may show we can TURN BACK THE CLOCK:

  • Curcumin the yellow pigment of turmeric (Curcuma longa) may exert significant benefit in preventing telomere shortening and may actually promote elongation of telomeres.
  • Higher Vitamin D levels are associated with longer telomeres
  • Inflammatory markers in the blood correlate with telomere shortening. Serrapeptase enzymes reduce inflammation and are therefore very important in reducing the rate of telomere shortening.
  • Eating Seaweed and seaweed extracts daily delivers up to ten years extra lifespan compared to those who do not eat them.

I knew there was a good reason why I formulated SERRANOL, it was to keep me young!

Health News (Week 28 - 2014)
By Robert Redfern

You Will Not Hear This In The News!

In The News!

The media is full of bad news about the epidemic of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Unlike their flu scare stories and bird flu horror stories, this time it is very relevant and very true. The number of people who will succumb to dementia in the next 10 years is horrendous; for those people, for their family and society as a whole.

What you are hearing in the news about Alzheimer’s is Pharma companies who are asking governments and charities to dig deep and give them billions so they can find a drug that you will need to take for the rest of your life, that will make the Pharma cabal even more wealthy than they already are now. You have read my newsletters’ claims that they have never researched a cure for major disease. They would be out of business.

Not in The News!

Serrapeptase and Nattokinase intervention for relieving Alzheimer’s disease

What you will not hear in the news is a new study published last year that showed that serrapeptase and nattokinase administered daily for 45 days resulted in a significant decrease in the chemical activity in the brain that causes Alzheimer’s. Treatment with these enzymes also produced a significant increase in the chemical activity in the brain that helps to protect against Alzheimer’s.

You will never hear about this in the media because it threatens the billions Pharma make from drugs that never cure anything in a meaningful way. This study now adds to the list of studies I used when I made my Alzheimer’s recovery plan.

Alzheimer’s Plan Update

You will remember a few months back I asked for Alzheimer’s sufferers who wanted to get personal coaching. The idea behind it was to stay in touch daily with their carers, who we could coach and monitor to help them implement the changes needed. After a slow start we eventually had four who agreed to work with us. The goal was to show that in 30 days there could be a measured improvement.

The good news is every one of these Alzheimer’s sufferers improved in the 30 days and are still steadily improving. The not so good news is that it is not as easy as I thought for their carers to implement as quickly as I had presumed. I am just making a few changes to the eBook to make it easier and to give the plan a slower start. The ebook will also soon be available as a printed book to make it easier to follow the plan.

What this has taught me is that what seems simple to me isn’t for everyone and so we are going to expand the personal coaching, to help everyone understand that it is ok to ask for help implementing the plan, especially when there is so much stress and emotions involved with Alzheimer’s.

This is the Alzheimer’s plan on the Help Desk:

http://www.goodhealthhelpdesk.com/index.php?/Default/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1982/89/alzheimers-disease-health-activity-plan

If you are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s then don’t give up just because the medical mafia say nothing can be done. All they mean is “nothing can be done as far as we know”. The good news is they don’t know everything and readers of my newsletters probably know more

Chronic Inflammation and Joint Pain

Health News (Week 27 - 2014)
By Robert Redfern

Chronic Inflammation and Joint Pain

The most frequently ‘asked’ questions that I have received over the last 25 years or so have been from readers of my newsletter, especially those suffering from chronic inflammation and joint pain.

Twenty-five years ago it was only HealthPoint I offered and although the results were awesome, in the toughest cases, I realized that certain critical nutrients and a healthy lifestyle were essential for improving health and relieving many problems.

I have recommended these solutions below many times but thought I would reinforce them again with a list of studies that have convinced me just how good they are.

The following studies show just how effectively these nutrients may significantly help improve your condition and symptoms:

1. Krill Oil - 300mg per day can significantly reduce joint pain, stiffness and C-reactive protein (CRP is a measure of inflammation). In one women's study, pain, stiffness and function impairment were measured and shown to significantly improve.

(ref: Deutsch L. Evaluation of the effect of Neptune Krill Oil on chronic inflammation and arthritic symptoms. J Am Coll Nutr. 2007 Feb;26(1):39-48)

In a separate study of Krill Oil combined with Hyaluronic Acid and Astaxanthin (both of which target pro-inflammatory agents in the body), arthritis patients reported a 55% pain reduction in under 3 months, with 63% being entirely pain-free.

(Valensa. MD Clinical Trial Overview and Results. 2011)

2. Fish Oil – This lowers levels of inflammatory cytokines throughout the body. It also provides major cardiovascular benefits. The high levels of DHA and EPA in fish oil provides excellent benefits for heart, eye and brain health.

Krill Oil may be superior at protecting joint cartilage from inflammatory damage, while fish oils are better at suppressing the circulating inflammatory cytokines that cause cardiovascular disease.

Ref: Kalogeropoulos N, Panagiotakos DB, Pitsavos C, et al. Unsaturated fatty acids are inversely associated and n-6/n-3 ratios are positively related to inflammation and coagulation markers in plasma of apparently healthy adults. Clin Chim Acta. 2010 Apr 2;411(7-8):584-91.

Ierna M, Kerr A, Scales H, Berge K, Griinari M. Supplementation of diet with Krill Oil protects against experimental rheumatoid arthritis. BMC Musculoskelet Disord. 2010;11:136.

3. Astaxanthin – This is a powerful antioxidant and natural anti-inflammatory agent. It is widely studied for its beneficial effects on chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis.

Yuan JP, Peng J, Yin K, Wang JH. Potential health-promoting effects of Astaxanthin: a high-value carotenoid mostly from microalgae. Mol Nutr Food Res. 2011 Jan;55(1):150-65.

Nakao R, Nelson OL, Park JS, Mathison BD, Thompson PA, Chew BP. Effect of Astaxanthin supplementation on inflammation and cardiac function in BALB/c mice. Anticancer Res. 2010 Jul;30(7):2721-5.

4. Hyaluronic Acid - is a naturally occurring polysaccharide that is a major component of joint and connective tissue. In joints, its natural function is to lubricate and cushion the joint lining from repeated impacts and microscopic trauma. It is also involved in wound repair and regeneration. Hyaluronic Acid helps stop joint degradation and slows the painful and destructive progress of arthritis.

(Campo GM, Avenoso A, Nastasi G, et al. Hyaluronan reduces inflammation in experimental arthritis by modulating TLR-2 and TLR-4 cartilage expression. Biochim Biophys Acta. 2011 Sep;1812(9):1170-81)

Due to the large size of the Hyaluronic Acid molecule, it is best absorbed through the intake of Krill Oil.

Additionally, I cannot help mentioning that the nutrients above have significant benefits for supporting healthy vision including Fish Oil (this helps with macular degeneration prevention and overall eye health), Krill Oil (overall eye health), Astaxanthin (reduced inflammation) and Hyaluronic Acid (this may help strengthen the Vitreous Gel and related connective tissue).

Traditionally it was thought that joint conditions such as Osteoarthritis were due to normal wear and tear. Better research now shows what nutritionists have said ‘forever’ that much of the damage over time is due to the body's natural healing response to injury and diet. Unnatural proteins lodging in the joint create an acute inflammatory response from the body, which then becomes chronic.

Note: Although the above specifically refers to Osteoarthritis, it should also apply to other chronic inflammatory joint diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis where the body creates a loop of reacting to joint damage by creating an infection response (also called an Auto-immune response). Eating the same unnatural diet then leads to more joint damage.

An anti-inflammatory natural foods diet is recommended and this is primarily made up of alkalizing foods (such as avocado, lime, green, leafy green vegetables and low sugar fruits).

Avoid acidic foods including breads, potatoes, white rice, pasta, grain fed meats and most unnaturally produced dairy products. Also, avoid unhealthy oils including margarines, trans-fatty acids, overheated oil, corn oil and vegetable oils.

Carbs Damage Children
Posted by Pedro Alvarez on 26 June 2014 07:53 PM

Health News (Week 26 - 2014)
By Robert Redfern

Short-sightedness Caused by Carbs

I am very concerned for the health of everyone but particularly that of children and this concern starts for babies in the womb as you saw in last week’s newsletter.

Expectant mothers are concerned about what they put in their mouths in case it damages their baby in the womb and quite rightly so. Every week I get emails from expectant mothers asking is it OK to take supplements while pregnant. I confirm they are OK and tell them it is essential they take a whole raft of missing nutrients.

Independent nutritionists for nearly 100 years have written books claiming and pleading that high sugar diets are bad for health. Since a two continent study published in New Scientist 2002, it has been confirmed that expectant mothers consuming foods with high levels of sugar have babies with more defects. You can read the full article at the end of this newsletter. This in itself is not scientifically conclusive but if you put the rest of the evidence shown together with this, you get enough facts to convince me that high sugar foods are unfit foods for human consumption.

You would expect in 12 years we would now have a ban on high sugar levels in children foods. In adverts, bars and when I board planes in the USA, I see a warning sign saying consuming alcohol in pregnancy can lead to birth defects.

Why after all of this time do we not have warnings about high sugar foods causing birth defects? The evidence for the damage from high sugar foods and drinks is just as conclusive as alcohol and smoking, scientists plead for it, but governments seem incapable of protecting our children from these dangerous foods and drinks.

Since the increase in eating white rice and adding wheat and other western junk foods to the diet even newer studies reports up to 90% of all school leavers in major Asian cities are now suffering from myopia - short-sightedness. Professor Ian Morgan, who led this study and is from the Australian National University reported 20-30% was once the average among people in South East Asia as well.

My recommendations for you and your babies are:

Eat my really healthy foods plan, which you can find at www.ReallyHealthyFoods.com

The very minimum of supplements for you and your babies are:
Nascent Iodine Drops (recommended by WHO for mothers)
Multi-Vitamin/Minerals complete formulation for missing nutrients

My full super fertility plan for those needing help is: Fertility Health Plan – Click Here

Healthy foods and missing nutrients are needed for both you and your baby’s health and are important not just for now, but for life.

If you have any questions on health or following a really healthy foods diet, feel free to contact me Here. Your question will come through to me directly and I will answer in the strictest of confidence.

Short-sightedness may be tied to refined diet

11:40 05 April 2002 by Douglas Fox

The food children eat might play as big a role as books and computer screens when it comes to causing short-sightedness.

Diets high in refined starches such as breads and cereals increase insulin levels. This affects the development of the eyeball, making it abnormally long and causing short-sightedness, suggests a team led by Loren Cordain, an evolutionary biologist at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and Jennie Brand Miller, a nutrition scientist at the University of Sydney.

The theory could help explain the dramatic increase in myopia in developed countries over the past 200 years. It now affects 30 per cent of people of European descent, for example.

"The rate of starch digestion is faster with modern processed breads and cereals," says Brand Miller. In response to this rapid digestion, the pancreas pumps out more insulin. High insulin is known to lead to a fall in levels of insulin-like binding protein-3, the team points out.

That could disturb the delicate choreography that normally coordinates eyeball lengthening and lens growth. And if the eyeball grows too long, the lens can no longer flatten itself enough to focus a sharp image on the retina, they suggest.

"Overnight epidemics"

"It's a very surprising idea," says James Mertz, a biochemist at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. But it's plausible, says Bill Stell of the University of Calgary in Canada. "It wouldn't surprise me at all. Those of us who work with local growth factors within the eye would have no problem with that - in fact we would expect it."

Metz's institution is now planning studies in animals. But there is already evidence to support the theory. While fewer than one per cent of the Inuit and Pacific islanders had myopia early in the last century, these rates have since skyrocketed to as high as 50 per cent. These "overnight epidemics" have usually been blamed on the increase in reading following the sudden advent of literacy and compulsory schooling in these societies.

But while reading may play a role, it does not explain why the incidence of myopia has remained low in societies that have adopted Western lifestyles but not Western diets, says Cordain.

"In the islands of Vanuatu they have eight hours of compulsory schooling a day," he says, "yet the rate of myopia in these children is only two per cent." The difference is that Vanuatuans eat fish, yam and coconut rather than white bread and cereals.

The theory is also consistent with observations that people are more likely to develop myopia if they are overweight or have adult-onset diabetes, both of which involve elevated insulin levels. The progression of myopia has also been shown to be slower in children whose protein consumption is increased.
